  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Microwave semi-sweet chocolate in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min., stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla; stir until well blended. Add flour and baking powder; mix well. Stir in nuts and white chocolate.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake 12 to 13 min. or until cookies are puffed and shiny. Cool 1 min.; remove from baking sheets to wire racks. Cool completely. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.

Note

If omitting nuts, increase flour to 3/4 cup to prevent the cookies from spreading excessively during baking.

Substitute

Substitute 1 cup dried cranberries for 1 cup of the macadamias.

Substitute

Prepare as directed, using toasted PLANTERS Slivered Almonds.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The cookies tasted great. The cookies tasted great. They didn't make as many as the recipe said they would. They also got hard quickly. I put them in with some other freshly baked goodies and they softened up. The expense of the nuts make these not an every day cookie. They were easy to make but I wouldn't suggest cooking them for as long as the recipe says to.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I had to add more flour because the batter was far too thin to form any sort of ball. I had to add more flour because the batter was far too thin to form any sort of ball. Even with the extra flour, the cookies still flattened out and burned. I managed to save some, but with the ingredients being as costly as they are, it was a shame to have to throw more than half the batch away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I got so many compliments on these cookies! I got so many compliments on these cookies! They turned out to be delicious! However, I found that i needed just a little more flour than the recipe suggested. Walnuts also make a great substitute for the pecans.
