How to Store Dried Herbs and Spices
Mark the purchase date on the bottoms of all jars of dried herbs and spices. Store in airtight containers in a cool dry place. Do not store dried herbs and spices over the stove or in direct sunlight. Ground spices and dried herbs should be used within 6 months. Whole spices will last longer and can be kept for up to 2 years. Try to purchase only the amount you expect to use within that time.
