Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this recipe. I loved this recipe. It came out perfect. I made these in bars, and after reading the reviews I was worried that they might not come out right. I cooked them in a metal pan for about 25 minutes and they were perfect. The only thing about these was they were pretty crumbly. I think I cut them too soon. Next time I will let these chill for a while before cutting them. They had great texture and a perfect combination of flavors. We loved these. They didn't look so pretty, but they tasted really yummy!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We loved this recipe. We loved this recipe. The bars were very moist and chewy. The combination of cranberries and dark chocolate chunks was yummy. I cooled and chilled the bars before cutting them so the chocolate was firm. I'm freezing them for the holidays. The copy of the recipe in the Kraft Holiday 2007 edition of FOOD and FAMILY MAGAZINE calls for baking the bars for 20-22 minutes. I had to double the baking time listed. They took 43 min. They were still wet and gooey after 20 min.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We really loved the taste of these bars. We really loved the taste of these bars. I took the suggestion and replaced the white flour with wheat. Can't even tell the difference. I did however change a few things. I put the Cherry cranberry Craisins, and rather then the semi-sweet squares, I used the choc chips, much easier. I added macadamia nuts along with the walnuts. So delicious. I think next time I will use a little less brown sugar since it seemed a little to sweet. Will definitely make again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used your basic recipe but tweeked it a bit. I used your basic recipe but tweeked it a bit. Had dried cherries on hand and soaked them in a low sugar grape juice, also used toasted walnuts and reduced the chocolate a bit. To cut out some fat I used unsweetened apple sauce for half the butter called for and I did have to bake it a bit longer than 30 minutes. The end result is yummy and I feel good about eating them, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this for a brunch I was attending and it came out FANTASTIC. I made this for a brunch I was attending and it came out FANTASTIC. They were gone in like 15 minutes. I changed a couple of things for personal taste - I left out the chocolate chunks and added a tsp of cinnamon (because oatmeal cookies taste great w/ cinnamon so I figured these would be good too) and everyone loved them. I will definitely make these again! SOO YUMMY!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great flavor, but poor baking directions. Great flavor, but poor baking directions. My first batch went 5 minutes longer than recommended and still was too soft in the center once cooled. The second batch went a good 10 minutes longer and were done, but still a little soft in the middle compared to the delicious outside crispy edges. I will make this recipe again, but will make cookies instead of bars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This recipe is okay. This recipe is okay. I thought it would be better. I made the recipe with all the ingredients called for and found out it is difficult to chop the chocolate. I recommend just using chocolate chips. It would be much faster. The bars were kind of dry, but maybe that's because I left them in for an additional 10 minutes, as other users have recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this for my Cookie Exchange and love it! I made this for my Cookie Exchange and love it! Baking time is really off - used metal pans and both reg and convection ovens and kept adding min. until it was golden brown all over. I used white choc. chips instead - semi-sweet was a little overpowering for the cranberries. Once it's chilled it's easier to cut and separate. Thanks!
