  • Bake pie crust as directed on package for unfilled one-crust pie; cool completely.
  • Melt chocolate as directed on package; cool slightly. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed 3 min. or until light and fluffy. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; mix well. Add egg product. Beat on high speed 2 min. or until light and fluffy. Spoon into pie crust.
  • Refrigerate 3 hours or until chilled. Top with the whipped topping. Store leftover pie in refrigerator.

Unlike the traditional Chocolate Silk Pie which contains uncooked eggs, this pie uses cholesterol-free egg product, eliminating the risk of exposure to salmonella.

How to Make Chocolate Curls

Melt 2 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet or Premium White Baking Chocolate as directed on package. Spread into very thin layer on baking sheet. Refrigerate 10 min. or until chocolate is firm, but still pliable. To make curls, push a metal spatula firmly onto bottom of baking sheet, under the chocolate, so the chocolate curls as it is pushed. (If chocolate is too firm, let stand a few minutes at room temperature; refrigerate again if it becomes too soft.)

I had my husbands 2 picky nephews staying with us and needed a quick, simple dessert. I did end up using a pre-made graham cracker crust instead of the traditional pastry crust (since I was so short on time) and it turned out wonderful. I was really impressed with the silky texture and my husband, nephews and baby LOVED it! They've put in a request for another one at some point this week :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply delicious! Simply delicious!!! I've always loved chocolate silk pie and I'm SO glad that I found this recipe. Easy, fast and most important...it tastes good. I shaved some of the chocolate by using my peeler and just sprinkled it all over the pie. Looks and tastes great. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Making desserts is not something I typically do very well but this one turned out fantastic. I like the fact that the recipe calls for egg product versus raw eggs. I made this to see how it would turn out and plan to make it again for the Christmas family gatherings. Great recipe.

Try garnishing with mint for a refreshing twist in the summer. I substituted Splenda baking sugar to decrease the calories, but increased the chocolate to 8 squares.

It's rich and creamy, with a ton of chocolate flavor, so a small slice is enough. I'll be making this again.
