  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder and baking soda in medium bowl; set aside.
  • Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until blended. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate morsels, caramel bits and nuts.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place, 2 inches apart, on parchment-covered baking sheets. Flatten each ball, in criss-cross pattern, with tines of fork. Sprinkle with salt.
  • Bake 10 to 12 min. or until just set. Cool on baking sheet 10 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Toasting nuts adds crunch and intensifies their flavor. To toast nuts in the oven, spread nuts in single layer in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. To toast nuts on the stovetop, place nuts in ungreased skillet. Cook on medium heat until golden brown, stirring frequently. To toast nuts in the microwave, place up to 1 cup of nuts in a microwaveable shallow dish. Microwave on HIGH until fragrant and crisp, stirring every 30 sec.

Special Extra

Melt 2 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over cookies. Let stand until firm.
