  • Mix granulated sweetener, water and coffee granules in large saucepan. Add cinnamon stick. Bring to boil on medium-high heat, stirring frequently.
  • Add pears; partially cover pan with lid. Simmer on medium-low heat 20 min. or just until pears are tender, stirring after 10 min.
  • Remove pears from pan with slotted spoon; discard cinnamon stick and liquid. Serve pears warm topped with COOL WHIP and a light sprinkling of ground cinnamon.

How to Test for Doneness

Test the doneness of the cooked pears by piercing the base of each pear with the tip of a sharp knife. If it doesn't meet any resistance, then it is done.
