I used tabasco, several dashes to give it a little BAM!
I've had this and made it many times and it's delicious and easy, but when I had it at someone's party served with awful (to me!) vinegar chips, I was shocked to find it was to die for! Really! I then served it this way at home for a party, and my father asked to take the leftovers home! :)
Not exactly as good as the prepackaged clam dip that I used to find in the grocery stores years ago that has seemed to be dicontinued, not like that of the easy to find onion dips but it is a close second.
