One thing this recipe doesn't mention (that is important) is that you need to cook the peppers first. Boil in salted water until tender.__I combined the tomato sauce and water and poured it over the filled peppers before cooking. I also used the onion soup mix like everyone else.
My whole family loved them--very similar to my grandmother's recipe, but easier due to the seasoning packet. We have to double the recipe every time we make them--they are great left over. I highly recommend these for a family dinner!
Great and simple recipe! I sprinkled my bell peppers with shredded cheese once they cooled a little after being taken out of the oven! This recipe is a family favorite!!!
