I always add a few slices of cooked and drained bacon, crumbled to this recipe, about a 1/4c finely chopped red onion, and use a combo of the salad dressing and mayonnaise/miracle whip.Sometimes even some grated cheddar. There are never any leftovers! I also make this recipe substituting thawed green peas in winter-no kidding! and it turns out equally good! (I don't add the raisins or cheese though)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just want to say thank-you for helping my search. Just want to say thank-you for helping my search. I found this salad at a Wal-mart store. Needless to say my husband loved it. Should have known Kraft Foods would have had the receipe, just like I found it. Also thank all you ladies for the different ways of fixing the salad. This will come in handy for pot-luck dinners at church and family gatherings. Thank-you again so much

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This has become a favorite of my friends and family. This has become a favorite of my friends and family. I have made it for years and always get requests for the recipe. Tip: I like to toss the broccoli, dressing and onion together and refrigerate it a few hours or overnight (the flavors really come together). Then I toss the bacon, raisins and sunflower seeds in at the last minute so they stay crunchy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I loved this! I loved this! I did not add sunflower seeds, and I used a homemade dressing of light mayo, vinegar and sugar. It was really tasty - sweet and crunchy with a bit of salt. I add shredded fat free cheddar on a serving (rather than mix it in). I will be making this all summer! So nice to find a salad that's a little bit different.

My family normally won't eat broccoli so when I made this salad for Sunday dinner, I made only a small amount. I put it on the table while I finished getting things ready. By the time the rest of the meal was on the table the broccoli was all gone. The kids just kept eating it once they had tasted it. My husband loved it too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is an excellent base from which one can adapt to various taste preferences. This is an excellent base from which one can adapt to various taste preferences. I've also added the crumbled bacon. In addition, to the sunflower seeds, I also add cashews and also prefer to make my own dressing with red vinegar, lite mayo and brown sugar. It allows one to control for tarteness or sweetness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really love this salad. I really love this salad. Some variations I have tried are grapes cut in half instead of raisins (less sugar), and I use nonfat, plain yoghurt or sour cream depending on what I have on hand and then I add equal not sugar. The sunfower seeds are great, and I like the almond variety as well.
