Rated 5 out of 5 by from This cake was perfect for my son's second birthday! This cake was perfect for my son's second birthday! I was looking for a recipe that had something to do with cars or trucks but that didn't take a lot of time. This was definitely it! I simply baked the cake earlier in the day and decorated it right before our guests arrived. All of the grown ups thought it was super creative! And, of course, my son was thrilled to have the trucks to play with. I used whipped white icing and only iced it on top and part way down the sides. That way the actual cake was showing at the bottom in order to resemble dirt. I just didn't want to mess with the oreo crumbs. It really turned out great! What a cute idea!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic cake! Fantastic cake!! I made this for my son's first birthday and it turned out really cute! I used regular frosting instead of cool whip because it's easier to frost. I also used brownies for the boulders instead of pieces of the cake. I used frosting to write Happy Birthday on top of the cake opposite the boulders. I got tons of compliments on it! Everyone wanted a piece of cake with the brownie in it. Easy, yummy, and looks great!

This is one of those cakes that looks like you spent sooo much time creating it, when it only takes 20 minutes to decorate. Instead of cutting off part of the cake to make the "boulders", I separately baked a pan of brownies to make piles of "dirt" and "rocks". And I must say that eating a bite of fudge brownie with a bite of cake is so yummy!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sooo easy. Sooo easy. Made this for my son's first birthday and boy was he a happy little fellow. :-) I did use something else as filling though. Try the Jello, no bake Oreo for some extra crunch on the inside! http://www.kraftbrands.com/Jello/nutritioninfo.aspx?Site=1&Product=4300021718
