  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Toss apples with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon; place in 8- or 9-inch square baking dish.
  • Combine oats, remaining sugar and cinnamon in medium bowl. Cut in margarine with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in wafer crumbs; sprinkle over apples.
  • Bake 30 to 35 min. or until apples are tender. Serve topped with COOL WHIP.

How to Thaw COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

The best way to thaw frozen COOL WHIP Whipped Topping is in its container in the refrigerator. Depending on the size tub you have, the thawing time varies. Recommended thawing times are: 8-oz. tub - 4 hours; 12-oz. tub - 5 hours; 16-oz. tub - 6 hours. We DO NOT recommend thawing COOL WHIP Whipped Topping in the microwave.

Especilly those people you are feeding are bunch of women who loves good food. And... if you are trying to impress them at the Arbonne Skin Care class at your house. Rather than using the recipe for one, I've add an extra 1/2 batch.

I might add a bit more cinnamon to add a little more taste, but like I said it was delicious. My only qualm was that it took way longer than 20 minutes of prep time to peel and cut the apples and mix everything together.

Everyone loved it and thought I spent all day making it. However, I recommend using Golden Delicious Apples, they worked better for me. I love this recipe and I plan on making this many more times.

I was looking for something to get rid of all the apples I had and since this recipe was in this month's magazine, I thought I would give it a try. I am so glad I did. My only complaint is that I can't stop eating it when I start. I just want more.

I must admit, it didn't look like much when this was assembled together, but when it came out and I tasted it, it was great!! I didn't even bother to put the Cool Whip on top. The brown sugar marries well with the cinnamon, fabulous!!

I always peel the apples though and that really makes a difference. It also helps if you break the caramels in half before adding them so that they melt more evenly. very good.

The taste was fine, but I usually like apple crisp to be more gooey -- this seemed more dry to me. Maybe I did something wrong, but I think I will try a different recipe next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly good! Amazingly good! My husband thinks I spent hours in the kitchen making this but really it was only 30 mins. I added ice cream and caramel which made it extra good (and gave extra calories). I did have to cook it longer than 35 mins for the apples to become soft.
