  • Cook macaroni in large saucepan as directed on package.
  • Meanwhile, blend cottage cheese, milk and pepper in blender until smooth.
  • Drain macaroni; return to saucepan. Add cottage mixture and VELVEETA; mix well. Cook on low heat 2 to 3 min. or until VELVEETA is completely melted and mixture is heated through, stirring occasionally.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with a side of steamed green beans or another favorite cooked vegetable.

And one of my friends came over recently, we made JUST the mac_n_cottage_cheese and she LOVED it! Let me tell you she is a HUGE sceptic for NEW things but she loved it! I will definately make this for the up-comeing bbq to honor my Uncles retrun from Germany!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This recipe was AWFUL! This recipe was AWFUL!!! So bland and boring, bad taste and too rich. I felt so bad making this dish for my family, I apologized many times. I even added bacon to spruce it up, and it just made the BACON TASTE BAD!!! I didn't think it was possible, but yes, this recipe made BACON taste bad.

I made this recipe with the cottage cheese the first time and it came out gross (maybe it was me) then I decided I would try again with fat free cream cheese instead and added some seasonings and 2% colby cheddar mix and came out pretty good for lowfat mac n cheese.

I suppose it's not as yummy as the kind made with real cheddar cheese and a flour/milk sauce, but it is good and the fact that it's low fat makes up for it as far as I'm concerned.

My mother made a similar dish many years ago; I had forgotten all about it until I came across it in the Kraft recipe box. Your version has 'tweaked' my mom's a bit but it tastes so much like hers! Making it brought back many warm memories!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We have made this recipe several times now. We have made this recipe several times now. It is very creamy and delicious. I use fat free cottage cheese which lowers the fat even more. I do recommend cutting back on the milk just a bit. It comes out soupy otherwise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I think I'd add more to this recipe next time. I think I'd add more to this recipe next time. I had a hard time getting the cottage cheese to smooth out. Just seemed ok compaired to the other dishes I have tried. I think that it would taste better with bacon or ham.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very delicious. Very delicious. My husband couldn't guess that I used cottage cheese! After it was done, i put it in a casserole dish and sprinkled shredded sharp cheddar over and baked for a couple minutes. Fast and very tasty!!
