Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Mix meat, stuffing mix, 1-1/4 cups water and onions just until blended. Shape into 6 (1/2-inch-thick) oval patties. Place on rimmed baking sheet.
  • Bake 25 min. or until done (160°F). Meanwhile, cook mushrooms in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat 5 min. or until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in barbecue sauce and remaining water; simmer on low heat 1 to 2 min. or until heated through.
  • Serve meat patties topped with sauce.

Makeover - How We Did It

We have taken a classic comfort food and made it over by preparing it with extra-lean ground beef and cooking the mushrooms in a nonstick skillet instead of in a regular skillet with butter. These changes will save you 16g of fat per serving.

Shortcut

To save time, look for washed and pre-sliced mushrooms available in the produce section of most grocery stores.

Substitute

Prepare using KRAFT Hickory Smoke Barbecue Sauce.

Oh my gosh...SO GOOD! New family favorite. It was very easy to make and didn't hardly take any time at all. We also made mashed potatoes and the gravy was super yummy on them!

Loved it!!! Recipe is fine just the way it is listed!!! I have also used regular brown gravy (in the jar) and just heated it on top of the stove with the mushrooms as my sauce.
