  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Beat butter, sugars, pudding mix and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add eggs and baking soda; mix well. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in chocolate morsels, cranberries and nuts.
  • Drop teaspoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets.
  • Bake 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets 3 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  • Dip half of each cookie into melted chocolate. Place on waxed-paper covered baking sheet; let stand until chocolate is firm.

Note

When baking these cookies in a high-altitude area, increase the baking time to 9 to 11 min. or until cookies are golden brown.

Special Extra

Place cookie dough on parchment-covered baking sheets to prevent cookies from sticking to pans and to help keep baking sheets clean between batches.

Variation

Prepare dough as directed; spread onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in 375°F oven 20 to 25 min. or until golden brown. Cool before cutting into bars.

The next time I will try putting the chocolate on the top also. I used 1-1/2 cups of Chocolate mini morsels in the batter and could have used a few less. I also substituted Vanilla sugar free instant pudding and it worked great. I will definitely be ****** them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made these tonight. I made these tonight. The batter is very thick and hard to stir. I only added half of the chocolate chips because it was plenty. I substituted cashews for the walnuts. Overall I think they turned out very well and they are delicious. Watch the cooking time of 8 minutes because they do cook fast.

Very easy and the added chocolate on top was a great and flavorful taste along with the cranberries. My grandson (8 yrs. old) helped me make these. The recipe was that easy. He loved them too and generally is a very picky dessert eater.
