Cranberry-Pear Crisp Recipe

what you need

4

large ripe pears, cored, peeled and sliced (about 4 cups)

2

Tbsp. brown sugar

1

tsp. ground cinnamon, divided

1/2

cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2

cup flour

3

Tbsp. cold margarine

1

cup whole grain cereal flakes with cranberries and almonds, lightly crushed

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Toss pears with 2 Tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. of the cinnamon in large bowl. Place in 8-inch square baking dish.

MIX 1/2 cup sugar, the flour and remaining 1/2 tsp. cinnamon in large bowl; cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cereal. Sprinkle evenly over pears.

BAKE 30 min. or until pears are tender. Serve warm.

I made this last night...I used canned pears. It was ok...I'll make it again. Next time I make it, I'll use crushed ginger snaps instead of the cereal.

Very good flavor and easy to make! Be careful and measure a cup of CRUSHED cereal, not a cup of cereal prior to crushing. Very sweet and hearty at the same time.

I made this for breakfast and it was a nice change, it also makes a great snack.

I really liked this recipe, I did add a lil' extra butter and since I could only find the vinilla cranberry crunch ceral I threw in a small pack of sliced almonds...it truned out GREAT, everyone wants me to make it again it was very easy!

Great dish! The only problem is deciding whether to put it on the dessert table or with the side dishes!

I was a bit dissapointed by this recipe. The cereal was not the best addition. When I make it again I will make the crisp the old way and add cranberries.

Someone mentioned the pears were too hard. I used canned pears and they were nice and soft. I did everything else the way it says.
