  • Combine water and dressing in medium saucepan. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Gradually add cornmeal, stirring constantly until well blended. Return to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Cook 12 to 14 min. or until cornmeal mixture pulls away from side of pan, stirring constantly.
  • Add cheese; stir until melted.

Variation - Creamy Parmesan Polenta

Substitute 1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese for the Cheddar cheese.

My family and I love polenta and when I made this recipe I used 1 cup of cornmeal instead of 3/4 cup and it came out good and not bland. I cooked it sometimes with a chicken flavor bouillon and butter it taste very good you can accompany it with any meat on the side.

Very good--I added 2 cubes of chicken bullion to the water, then after the last step of the recipe, I spread it in a baking dish and baked it at 375 until it was golden brown. It was delicious! My 4 year old loved it!
