  • Wrap 1 bacon slice around each chicken breast. Heat large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cover. Cook 5 to 7 min. on each side or until chicken is done (165ºF). Remove chicken from skillet; cover to keep warm. Discard drippings in skillet.
  • Cook pasta in large saucepan as directed on package. Meanwhile, cook cream cheese spread and broth in skillet until cream cheese is melted and sauce is thickened and well blended, stirring constantly with whisk. Stir in tomatoes and onions; cook 2 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  • Drain pasta; return to pan. Add sauce; mix lightly. Serve topped with chicken.

Substitute

Substitute farfalle (bow-tie pasta), fusilli, ziti or your favorite pasta for the penne.

Serving Suggestion

Serve this flavorful main dish with a mixed green salad for a quick-and-tasty weekday meal.

I cut up the chicken in small pieces and cooked in along with the chopped bacon. Then added the cream cheese, chicken broth, tomatoes, and added some parmesan. Then stirred in pasta and put everything in casserole dish and topped with some shredded italian blend cheese and baked. I really loved the flavor of the sauce. Will definitely make again.

I used chicken tenderloins so I could wrap the bacon around the whole piece of chicken, and it turned out wonderful! I'm not a big cream cheese person, especially flavored cream cheese, but the sauce turned out really good. I used a whole can of chicken broth and a whole tub of cream cheese so I would have extra sauce. Even my kids (8/4/4/3) loved this recipe! Highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and tasty! Easy and tasty! I have little kids, so I chopped the chicken and bacon into bite-size pieces before cooking. After cooking them, I mixed up the sauce as directed, then mixed the chicken and bacon into the sauce during the sauce- heating phase. Very tasty and creamy with a little zest to it... not bland like most other white sauces I've had. Try it!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a great, quick, and easy recipe. This was a great, quick, and easy recipe. I cut up my chicken, added shredded cheese, doubled the sauce, and omitted the bacon. The kids loved it and they enjoyed helping me cut up the ingredients. My husband has already had me to cook it again and he usually doesn't like trying new recipes but he loved this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This turned out a little bland for my taste. This turned out a little bland for my taste. I also cut up the chicken and bacon and cooked those together and added them at the end. The sauce was the problem - it is missing something. I don't know what though. I might try adding parmesean cheese or some kind of seasoning to the sauce if I make this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was awesome! This was awesome! I had read an earlier review and chopped the chicken and bacon to bite size. I would recommend cooking the bacon first as it didn't cook with the chicken and I used the whole 8oz cream cheese and extra chicken stock for more sauce. My family and I loved it!!! And it was so easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe is delicious! This recipe is delicious! Instead of wrapping the chicken in the bacon, I diced it and cooked it then used the bacon grease to cook the chicken in. Then I diced the chicken I did not have penne pasta, so I used bowtie pasta instead. Once everything was cooked I just threw everything into one pot.
