  • Spray nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add chicken; cover. Cook 5 min. or until cooked through. Sprinkle with garlic powder.
  • Add soup and milk. Bring to boil. Stir in rice and broccoli; cover. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 min. or until rice is tender.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup of the cheese; sprinkle with remaining cheese.

Substitute

You can always substitute other fresh vegetables you have on hand for the broccoli, such as thinly sliced peppers or sugar snap peas.

Cooking Know-How

If you're reheating leftovers the next day, stir in a little milk first to keep it creamy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this for dinner last night and we loved it! I made this for dinner last night and we loved it! I actually used the chicken that is cut up already for chop suey. They are bite size pieces, and saved time (and mess) of cutting up chicken. I read an earlier review that suggested cutting the chicken into bit size pieces and that is what gave me the idea to but it. I also substituted cream of celery, as that is a family favorite. So a little different twist on the recipe!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fast meal. Great fast meal. I did however add an extra cup of broccli to it. And used more garlic powder then it said and also used mushroom soup with roasted garlic in it as well. It just seems like it would be bland so i added more garlic and gave it just the pop it needed. Next time i think i will add green/red peppers. I would add your own favorite touch to this meal. It is very easy and quick to make though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love this recipe! We love this recipe! It is so good for lunch the next day as well. I use 1 1/2 cans of canned chicken, lots more broccoli, and add a can of mushrooms and a lot more cheese than it calls for (and I stir it in as well as sprinkling more on top). Adding all this really bulks up the receipe and we get about 6 or more servings from it. We make it about once a week!

The only little bit of a problem I had with this meal is that it didn't make as much as I would think a meal for 4 people should be. But if you know that ahead of time and add a large salad or other side dish it would probably be ok. With 2 adult and 2 young children there were absolutely no leftovers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was soooo yummy! This was soooo yummy! I actually subsituted in cream of celery and also did pea pods. I also might have added a little more that a cup of shredded cheese (which to me, more cheese makes things a whole lot yummier!) My husband said it was one of my better meals (I am not that great of a cook - so this ended up good and easy to make!)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It had good flavor, but I didn't care too much for the minute rice. It had good flavor, but I didn't care too much for the minute rice. I think I'll make my own and add it in. Also the broccoli didn't cook enough for me, so next time I'll cook the broccoli alone and then add it. Otherwise... very easy and wonderful flavor. I will try it again with a few changes.

The only reason I gave this four instead of five stars is that I didn't follow the exact recipe (so I'm leaving room to add one more star in case the original recipe is even better than what I made)! I made a few substitutions based on things I had in the kitchen. Used a can of drained chicken and as it was already cooked, added it together with the soup and milk in the beginning. I used garlic powder (3/4 tsp) to the whole mixture and that added tons of flavor to the dish! I also added half a soup can of water because I thought there might not have been enough liquid for the rice, and I did have to cook a bit longer than the recommended 5 minutes for the rice to be done. I didn't have any cheese so that was omitted, but it was still very yummy. After it was done cooking, I let it sit for a few minutes to let the sauce thicken up a bit and it was fabulous! I liked the texture of the canned chicken (shredded) and loved that it saved me time. I did however drain and rinse the chi

Rated 4 out of 5 by from delicious recipe, the only problem i had with it is that the rice wasn't quite done even on medium... delicious recipe, the only problem i had with it is that the rice wasn't quite done even on medium heat, and the broccoli was still a bit too crisp. I would try a lower heat setting next time for the rice and maybe partially cook the broccoli in the microwave with some water next time.
