Rated 2 out of 5 by from I expected more. I expected more. It looked like good old Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, but the sour cream gave the cheese sauce a bit of a tang. The onion flavor was almost overpowering. The kids were excited because it looked simple enough, but even they didn't eat much because of the funny taste. Next time, I would omit the onions, omit the sour cream, and perhaps substitute 1/2 water, 1/2 milk for the 2c. of water specified in the recipe. It was definitely convenient to make it all in one pan, but it just didn't taste as good as it looked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I just finished eating this dish and it was definatly yummy with my tweaks! I just finished eating this dish and it was definatly yummy with my tweaks! I started making the dish thinking that I had sour cream in the fridge and alas I did not! But I did have some onion and chive cream cheese that needed using up so I threw in about a 1/4 cup of that and while cooking the chicken I added some minced garlic and some chicken seasoning. Not only did I get a very creamy dish but well seasoned too! Although I still want to try it with sour cream lol!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We liked it...definately beats meat, veggie, and mac as a side. We liked it...definately beats meat, veggie, and mac as a side. And it goes all in one pan...so easy to clean up, too. I used chicken broth instead of plain water...I also doubled the mac so it would stretch to our family of six. I mixed the sour cream and cheese powder together in a small bowl so that it would blend in better. My only recommendation is to put the broccoli in a few minutes AFTER the mac. It got a little TOO done. Oh, and finely chop the onions!

I've been trying a lot of new recipes lately that I've found in my Food & Family magazines. Although all of them have been good so far, I have to say that his one is my least favorite. I'm a fan of sour cream, but I think next time I'd use less or possibly omit it completely. It gave a little too much zing of it's kind for me. The broccoli in it was a good addition and it made my picky-when-it-comes-to-vegetables husband eat healthy! :o) Otherwise yummy though!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I must say I agree with much of what others have said. I must say I agree with much of what others have said. I made it w/out onions [used onion power instead] and no sour cream [used cream of chicken soup instead]. I wasn't pleased with the flavor [too weak] so I actually may try it with a little sour cream the next time. I agree with adding the macaroni later and perhaps preparing some ingredients separately and then mixing them together.

I made this for my husband and even though he said it was good, I was dissapointed that it did not look like the picture. I think next time, if there is one, I will cook the broccoli separate and then add it in the final stirring. Everything in the picture looks like it had been cooked separetly and add together. Will probably try one more time.

I have made this a couple of times now, my kids love it and it's easy, they even eat the broccoli! I have made it with smoked sausage as well, also very good. When your pressed for time this is an easy way to serve mac-n-cheese for dinner and not feel too guilty about it.
