  • Add boiling water to gelatin mix in large bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add enough ice to cold water to measure 1-1/2 cups. Add to gelatin; stir until ice is completely melted. Remove 1-1/2 cups gelatin; set aside on counter. Refrigerate remaining gelatin 30 min. or until slightly thickened.
  • Add 3/4 cup COOL WHIP to chilled thickened gelatin; whisk until well blended. Pour into 8-inch square dish. Refrigerate 15 min. or until gelatin mixture is set but not firm. Carefully pour reserved gelatin over creamy gelatin layer in dish.
  • Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm. Cut into squares; top with remaining COOL WHIP.

Substitute

Prepare using any flavor JELL-O Sugar Free Gelatin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this for my family. I made this for my family. It was a hit. Instead of 45 mins to let the jello set I did it for 20 mins. It was enough time. I used little parfait cups instead. I had 9. I was able to fill all of them with the jello that had the coolwhip but when it was time to add the reserve jello I was only able to fill 7 of them. Next time I will reserve a little more of the jello to do all 9. These would be great for a kids party. Great, quick, and tasty!!!!!!

Reminds me of the day when there was 1-2-3 Jello - if I recall, you had a mix that you made and then let it sit and as it jelled, it separated into layers similar to this. This should make a nice light ending to any meal and I'll make it again. Healthy alternative using s/f jello!

The jello was too heavy that it went through the creamy layer.Flipped it after slicing & it will come out the same. the jello went at the bottom layer.it worked okay.Chilled about 12 hours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, I made it with Strawberry Kiwi Jell-o. Very good, I made it with Strawberry Kiwi Jell-o. The only problem I had was that after 45 minutes in the refirgerator the first time, I almost had set Jell-o, so it didn't turn out very pretty, but it was still delicious!
