  • Heat dressing and garlic in large saucepan on medium heat 5 min., stirring often. Add flour; cook and stir 3 min.
  • Add potatoes and chicken broth; bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 20 min. or until potatoes are tender.
  • Gradually stir in sour cream; cook on low heat 5 min. Sprinkle each serving with bacon and cheese.

I really enjoyed this soup with the reviews I took into consideration, the changes were {PERFECT). Had guests, used 5lbs. of potatoes with allowed left overs for a Yummy lunch. I didn't add the salad dressing. I made sure the potatoes were JUST to the top under water and after 20 mins. I left the lid on but turned the burner off for 30 minutes to fi nish cooking. Then I added the spices, salt and pepper to taste, used half and half cream and then letter the soup settle for an hour, added the cheese to the top of each bowl as served.

EXCELLENT ! i made a few changes, i added a small diced onion to dressing mixure, increased four and dressing to 3/4 cup. used a precooked mixture of 1 cup navy beans and 1/2 cup sliced carrots. decreased potatoes to 1/2 lb. Oh, and added 8 oz chopped ham in lew of bacon. Made a tasty chowder !! will use the base agian. thanks kraft.
