Got a link to this recipe in email today and decided to try to make it with ingredients on hand. Used bow ties (12 oz box) since I didn't have egg noodles. Only had half an 8 oz tub of ***** cheese so rounded out with about 2 oz I had of sour ***** and half a cup of milk instead of the 2 tbsp recommended. Used 5 oz cans one each of tuna and salmon. I saw comments that the dish is "dry." I think the 1.5 qt ********* instead of a 13x9 as shown is key - it's deeper and has a cover. The noodles don't come out dripping with sauce like an alfredo, just nicely coated. Topping with crackers is wonderful. It was too full to stir before topping, though. Only thing I would change is adding salt to the noodle mixture.

So, I accidentally picked up the Italian herb cooking cream, and well, it turned out delish! This meal was very easy to make, though I opted to sautée fresh mushrooms with garlic and onions in butter rather than use canned mushrooms. I also added a little heavy cream because of the reviews stating it was dry. I added a little sage and garlic powder as well. And baked it longer than stated. This one is super easy, and ha lots of room to pay around with. Using the Italian herb gave it a kick many seem to think the recipe lacked. Creamy, rich, delish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was fantastic! This recipe was fantastic! I used 1 1/4 cups of light philly cream cheese and light garlic and herb philly cream cheese instead of the cooking creme. It turned out super flavorful and creamy. I also used some other poster's comments and sauteed some garlic and onions and added that as well. I also used canned peas because thats what I had on hand. Great recipe will make again for sure!!

I use mixed frozen veggies and the Lemon Herb cream cheese which I thought would go well with the tune and it was awesome! I made half of everything but kept the same amount of cream cheese, so if I were to make a regular batch I would close to double the cream cheese or add cream of mushroom soup like another suggested to help with dryness. Overall, delicious!

Tried this receipt but found it to be too dry therefore used ***** of mushroom soup plus 1/4 cup of milk , 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese, added parsley flakes and a touch of red pepper flakes for taste - put into ********* topped with mozzarella cheese, but could use cracker mix or crushed potato chips as a topping -- bake until melted and lightly browned.

I made a couple of changes based on what I had on hand but overall stuck to the recipe. I had Sante Fe blend cooking cream, macaroni noodles in stead of egg, and I used frozen peas, carrots, and corn instead of peas & mushrooms. It turned out wonderful and I'd make it again for a quick easy meal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was good. This was good. I used the Savory Lemon and Herb flavor cooking creme which I believe gave it a lot more flavor in addition to the seasoning I used. I used peas and corn as well. But I did experience dryness some others complained about as well. Will definitely tweak this recipe next time.

I didn't have cooking creme or mushrooms on hand so I substituted the cooking creme and mushrooms with 10.5oz cream of mushroom soup whipped together with 8oz cream cheese. I also substituted the ritz crackers with stove top chicken stuffing. It turned out tasty! Will be making this one again!
