cups sugar

1/3

cup water

1/4

tsp. cream of tartar

Dash of salt

jar (7 oz.) JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme

tsp. vanilla

cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

Make It

PLACE sugar, water, cream of tartar and salt in heavy 1-quart saucepan. (Do not stir.) Bring to boil on high heat, without stirring, until candy thermometer registers 248°F.

BEAT marshmallow creme and vanilla in small bowl with electric mixer on low speed until well blended. Gradually add hot sugar syrup, beating at medium speed until well blended. Beat on high speed 5 minutes or until mixture just begins to lose its gloss and hold its shape when dropped from spoon. Stir in pecans.

DROP teaspoonfuls of the marshmallow creme mixture onto sheets of wax paper. Cool completely. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

To quickly chop the nuts, process in electric blender or food processor.

Note

Final beating of the marshmallow creme mixture is critical to the success of the recipe. If the mixture is under beaten, it will not hold its shape.

Jazz It Up

Prepare as directed, adding 2 tsp. grated orange peel with the pecans. Cool completely. Dip bottom half of each piece in melted BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate. Let stand until set.

I made this and the texture did not seem right, the taste was good. Mom's was always fluffier and not grainy. Mine did get really thick so perhaps I mixed it to long? Haven't served it yet but plan to for Christmas.

I may make this again but with a bit less of something. The flavor was just off for me and I actually like store bought stuff better.

This recipe is not hard to make. It did not taste fantastic. It was mediocre to me. I liked how it has a "melt in your mouth" texture, I just don't care for this kind of candy.

Wow! This recipe was spectacular! I will make this Cream Divinity at Christmas time;and place them in beautiful Christmas tin cans and UPS them to all of my family and friends. Follow the recipe and it will turn out perfect.

Made this for my mother and sister for Christmas and they loved it. I'm not a big fan of divinity but even I liked it. It was really easy to make and I will definitely make it again.
