Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this! Love this! Everyone raves about it, even those who hate green bean casserole. The first 2 times I made it, I accidentally used regular frozen cut green beans instead of the french style that are thinner and stringier. It came out excellent, but needs about 10 extra minutes or so of cook time because of the density of the beans versus the traditional string type. I've made it both ways, and it's creamier with the French style, but I, and others, prefer the regular green beans. It really makes it different from the classic casserole, and those who hate the classic casserole love this! Excellent flavor, no errors with this one! Foolproof!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I received this recipe from a friend who loves it. I received this recipe from a friend who loves it. It is so much better than the regular old green bean casserole. Everyone in our family & extended family absolutely loves it, even those who normally hate green bean casserole and were initially forced to try it. My only trouble was that I needed to make sure that the green beans thawed really well. I didn't give it enough time, which wouldn've been okay if I cooked it longer. They were just a little crunchy the first time. Every other time I've made sure they were thawed, and it's been perfect, and easy! Everyone loves it, and so do I!

I have never heard of cheese in the green bean casserole and I don't know that I'd like it. One thing I love in my green bean casseroles is bacon. Just cook it right in your casserole dish in the microwave, drain the grease, then add your beans and cream of mushroom soup and stir it all up. I am not a big fan of the onions on the top, either, but I know to a lot of people those are essential. Give the bacon a try. It gives the beans a great flavor.

I made this recipe for Christmas dinner about 3 years ago and I get a request for it every year. I make it for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas every year. My husband and relatives ask me for it every get together. If I offer to bring a dish to pass to a get together, I always am asked to make this. Do I need to say more? I've seen the recipe on the side of the French's fried onions can and everyone prefers this Kraft recipe 100% better!

I swayed from making the regular Green Bean Casserole to trying this one with the Cheese Whiz for a change in flavor and I loved it along with my family at a reunion. However, one thing I do differently in both casseroles is to use canned green beans instead of the frozen green beans. We like it ten times better that way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It seems like over the years I have tried different tips for this recipe. It seems like over the years I have tried different tips for this recipe. I use 3 cans french style green beans and I add 1 can of water chestnuts (chopped) and some crumbled bacon (mix in) I leave out the cheez wiz all together! It is wonderful this way. You should try it! It was a HUGE hit at Thanksgiving!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I made this for Thanksgiving. I made this for Thanksgiving. I put in more pepper than it called for, and added a little garlic and sage and it still turned out very bland. I ended up eating the leftovers with quite a bit more of the french fried onions than the recipe calls for and that was a little better. I would not make this again.
