  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Combine beans, onions, chiles and 1/2 cup barbecue sauce; spread onto bottom of 15x10x1-inch pan.
  • Spread meat with remaining barbecue sauce; cover with coating mix. Place over beans.
  • Bake 1 hour 30 min. or until meat is done (160ºF). Remove to platter; let stand 10 min. before slicing. Stir parsley into beans. Discard chiles. Serve beans with meat.

Food Facts

Arbol chiles are dried red chiles that are quite hot. If desired, use dried pequin or cayenne peppers instead.

Substitute

Substitute chopped fresh cilantro for the parsley.

    I am only giving this three stars because to my taste buds it was very salty. I didn't add any seasoning at all so I am not sure where the salt comes from exactly. I usually buy reduced sodium beans but that wasn't an option for great Northern, so I am wondering if it is due to the undrained beans. However my husband thought this was a great dinner so I would make it again - and just attempt some adjustments in the hope of making it less salty. I served this with biscuits and Western salad.

    we eat a lot of Pork this recipe looks easy enough for me to try. i like to experiment.
