pkg. (2-layer size) cake mix, any flavor

COMET Cups

can (16 oz.) ready-to-spread frosting, any flavor

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Prepare cake batter as directed on package; pour evenly into ice cream cups, filling each cup about half full.

BAKE 20 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool completely.

SPREAD tops with frosting. Garnish with colored sprinkles, if desired.

Prepare as directed, substituting 1 pkg. (18 oz.) brownie mix for the cake mix. Bake 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in centers comes out with fudgy crumbs. Omit frosting, if desired.

LOVED this recipe. I found a few tricks to make it easier. First, I baked all the cones in a muffin pan which made it easier if they tipped over. Also for transporting, I cut little x's all over a lid of a cardboard box, and the cones slid in perfectly without budging. Will definitely make this recipe again.

I made this for my son's 6th birthday and all of the kids LOVED them and DEVOURED them in minutes!!! Even though they got all messy in my transport, the kids loved the idea of having cupcakes that looked like ice cream! I also made them with the rainbow cups and funfetti cake:D

the kids at church loved them. you cannot fill them too full or you will have a mess. otherwise pipe on the icing to look like an ice cream cone and put sprinkles and they are precious. will definitely make again. probably chocolate this time.

These were great!! My only question is ~ did anyone else wonder why the cones tasted stale after they cooked?

I made this recipe for my preschool class (4-6 yrs.) at church and they loved. Next time i would not use all of the batter though because filling them half full was too much and the batter started running out while they were in the oven. They were still good though. Next time i will try cake mix other than yellow to give it a little more kick!
