Ratings & Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible taste and texture Nobody in my family (2 adults, a 10yr old, and 5 yr old) enjoyed this, with its almost slimy texture and bland, chocolate taste. After a few test bites, the entire dessert was thrown out.

I am normally not a bread added it to the pugging pudding lover but this one being so chocolatey intrigued me, I didn't have french bread so I used regular white bread, I cut the bread into large squares, added it to the pudding. I also used chocholate chips as that's all I had. It was wonderful I will certainly make this again, I may even try other flavors of pudding to see how that turns out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this and brought it for a dessert to a friends house and everyone loved it. I made this and brought it for a dessert to a friends house and everyone loved it. I am making again for a co-worker for her birthday, plus for a party next weekend. This is the best bread pudding I have ever had. I am thinking about putting a little peanut butter in it to give it a different taste. Thank you for having this recipe

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this recipe and it was great--but I don't recommend trying to use Sugar-Free Fat-Free pudding... I made this recipe and it was great--but I don't recommend trying to use Sugar-Free Fat-Free pudding mix--it made the bread not sweet enough and I had to add caramel and chocolate topping to sweeten it up. It's a great recipe though! Just make sure you put enough chocolate chips on it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A chocolate lover's delight! A chocolate lover's delight! This is so easy to make. I couldn't find French bread, so I used Italian. Also, I used chocolate chips which were easy to throw on top before baking. (Actually, I used milk choc. chips being that a family member doesn't prefer semi-sweet)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OH MY GOODNESS! OH MY GOODNESS! I thought nothing could ever replace my mom's bread pudding but this recipe swept me off my feet! Finally! My two favorite foods - bread pudding and chocolate - in one yummy recipe! The only thing I hate is: once I start eating it I can't stop!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I made this for my co-workers and it did not go over well. I made this for my co-workers and it did not go over well. Some said it wasn't sweet enough, others didn't like the texture. The nicest comment was that someone said they were indifferent, and they sure weren't going to write home.
