Double-Chocolate Truffle Dessert

This recipe was fantastic! I made them for our work Christmas party and they were a HUGE hit. A bit sticky to make, but absolutely worth it.

What You Need

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces

pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER'S Unsweetened Chocolate

1/2

cup butter or margarine

1/2

cup light corn syrup

tsp. vanilla

tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

pkg. (10 oz.) frozen strawberries, thawed, pureed

small fresh strawberries

Make It

LINE 8x4-inch loaf pan with plastic wrap. Microwave first 4 ingredients in medium microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2-1/2 min. or until chocolates and butter are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 1-1/2 min. Cool completely. Stir in vanilla. Refrigerate 30 min. or until thickened.

SPOON 1/2 cup COOL WHIP into small bowl. Refrigerate for later use. Gradually add remaining COOL WHIP to chocolate mixture, stirring constantly until well blended. Spoon into prepared pan.

REFRIGERATE 3 hours. Unmold dessert onto plate; remove plastic wrap. Top dessert with reserved COOL WHIP; cut into slices. Serve topped with strawberry puree. Garnish with whole strawberries.

This dessert is wonderful. We like it with a Meritage wine sauce drizzled over it.

I made this recipe for Christmas, but everyone was so full, they passed - so I took it to work. Everybody wanted the recipe! The only change I made was to use an entire container of chocolate flavor Cool Whip & I didn't bother with the sauce. I'm very picky about my chocolate & this was melt-in-your mouth fabulous! I will absolutely make it again!

I must have done something wrong. It was like eating a hard chocolate bar. My family didn't like it. Thank goodness there was more than one dessert.

Served this at a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. They thought they had gone to heaven when served dessert. So simple, yet sinfully delicious.

This was a wonderful treat for the whole family. The best part is that even though it looks very rich it wasn't. Very light and not too rich.

I don't know if i did something wrong or it just isn't very good. I make alot of recipes from Kraft, but this turned out a little dry. It tasted o.k., but the texture was off. Did anyone else have their's turn out dry?
