Dream Cake

Yellow cake mix goes from plain to dreamy when an envelope of whipped topping mix and extra eggs are added to the batter and it’s baked in a tube pan.

pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix

env. DREAM WHIP Whipped Topping Mix

eggs

cup water

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Place all ingredients in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on low speed just until moistened. Beat on medium speed 4 minutes or until well blended.

POUR into greased and floured 10-inch tube or fluted tube pan.

BAKE 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes; loosen cake from side of pan with spatula or knife. Gently remove cake from pan; cool completely on wire rack.

Substitute 1 pkg. (2-layer size) white or devil's food cake mix for the yellow cake mix.

VERY GOOD AND EASY. uSED WHITE CAKE MIX AND PEANUT BUTTER ICING.

LOL! This was one of the first pound cakes that I learned to bake, way back when. I was surprised to see that this recipe is still requested. I've always liked it. Easy to make, and a good taste too.

I made this cake for Womens Assn. and everyone thought that it was baked from scratch. I did bake it in a 9 x 13 pan and I made my own icing for it. I certainly will make this cake many more times. I think that it would be great taken to a patluck or any where that you want to take something. I have been looking for a dream cake recipe for a while and I am so happy that I went to your site in hopes that I could find one.

I am a Wilton Method Instructor and I recommend this cake to all my students. This cake holds up as a tiered cake or as a stand up or carved cake. I ALWAYS use this recipe! It has always been my old stand-by. Everyone thinks my cakes are from "scratch", and I'm not telling......
