Easy Cheeseburger Pie

The best thing about this Easy Cheeseburger Pie? Its crust is made of macaroni and cheese! Some would say that's just pure family-pleasing genius.

What You Need

1-1/2
cups  elbow macaroni, uncooked
1
lb.  lean ground beef
1/2
cup  finely chopped onions
1
can  (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, drained
1/4
cup  ketchup
1
Tbsp.  yellow mustard
1-1/2
cups  KRAFT Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese, divided
2
Tbsp.  butter
1
 egg

Make It

HEAT oven to 350ºF.

COOK macaroni as directed on package, omitting salt. Meanwhile, brown meat with onions in large nonstick skillet; drain. Stir in tomatoes, ketchup, mustard and 1/2 cup cheese.

DRAIN macaroni; place in large bowl. Add butter; toss until melted and macaroni is evenly coated. Stir in egg and 1/2 cup of the remaining cheese. Press onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate sprayed with cooking spray.

SPREAD meat mixture over macaroni mixture, leaving 1-inch border around edge; sprinkle with remaining cheese.

BAKE 25 min. or until heated through. Top with pickles.

Serve with a crisp, mixed green salad tossed with your favorite KRAFT Lite Dressing.
Variation
Omit macaroni and butter, and reduce the shredded Cheddar to 1 cup. Prepare 1 pkg. (7-1/4 oz.) KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner as directed on package. Add egg; mix well. Press onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate sprayed with cooking spray. Continue as directed.
