Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chicken a la king is supposed to be bland. Chicken a la king is supposed to be bland. Maybe a touch more salt & pepper. Also serve with the soy sauce on the table. It was popular in the 60's and it tastes right on the money. If you spice it up much it is not really chicken a la king. Some sliced almonds would be in keeping with the traditional flavor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very easy. Very easy. Good. A bit too much on the flavorless side. I used boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked. My sister suggested it maybe would be good as a pot pie filling. Maybe a few strips of bacon would improve the flavor. Or some burnt butter?

After reading the comments before making this recipe, I decided to avoid the possibility of bland, and added honey dijon mustard in with the salad dressing. This added a nice zip. Will definitely make again.

My wife complimented the peas, since the chicken didn't really pick up any of the flavor from the sauce. I think that next time I will substitute the salad dreassing for mushroom soup or paste.
