What You Need

2-1/4

cups boiling water, divided

pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Lime Flavor Gelatin

cup ice cubes

pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Strawberry Flavor Gelatin

tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping (Do not thaw.), divided

Make It

ADD 3/4 cup boiling water to lime gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add ice; stir until gelatin is slightly thickened. Remove any unmelted ice. Pour gelatin into 1- to 1-1/2-qt. bowl. Refrigerate 15 min. or until set but not firm.

ADD remaining boiling water to strawberry gelatin mix in large bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add 2/3 of the COOL WHIP; stir with whisk until COOL WHIP is melted and mixture is well blended. Refrigerate remaining COOL WHIP for later use. Carefully spoon strawberry gelatin mixture over lime layer.

REFRIGERATE 2 hours or until set. Top with remaining COOL WHIP just before serving.

Since I hadn't made it before I wasn't sure how it'd turn out so I entered other desserts in my family's Christmas eve contest...but after seeing and tasting how it came out, it'll be in this years contest for sure - since everyone else is intent on baking - this will be a nice cool change. I'm going to play around with the layers a bit though. P.S. - I won 1st and 2nd place last year. Hoping to hang on to the trophy!

I have made this over and over with different flavors and it is wonderful. I get requests for it at partys. It's a cool and light treat and there's always room for Jello!

this was very good ... i doubled the recipe so instead of makin just 2 layers i made 4 and then i added the rest of the whipped topping ... very very very good :-)

I kinda liked it. Lime is still a weird flavor for me, but I think it gave the strawberry a little tanginess. I still ate the flavors separately when I served it, but all in all, it was good. It was so easy to make it that I was able to rush home on my lunch break from work to get it started, so that it was done setting by the time I got home in 4 hours to take it to a Christmas potluck.

Excellent recipe. I used Lime Jell-O for both layers...because I took this to a St.Pat's Day party. Also, I added pineapple to the bottem layer. It was delicious!!!! I love the Kraft Foods Web Site!!!

This was very easy. Instead of placing it in the quart bowl, I just spooned it into wine glasses. The colors were beautiful and it was very easy to make. I ended up with 4 wine glasses that looked great and tasted great. I didn't care much for the lime jello, but it would be easy to use any two jello flavors, just try to not get them too close in color.

Everyone loved it! Especially the kids. Great for holiday dinner.
