This kid-friendly recipe was so easy to make with just a few ingredients that I already had on hand! The first time I made the recipe as directed, but the salsa on top was a deal-breaker for my 12 y/o. This time I tweaked the recipe a bit by adding a 2.25 can (drained) of sliced black olives and 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Intead of layering, I mixed all of the ingredients together, including the salsa, before baking. It was SO flavorful! This dish had just enough spiciness for my kids, and was definitely enjoyed by all! I think next time I make it (probably next week!) I will add a can of drained sweet corn along with the olives and cheese.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I would make this recipe again because it was really easy and tasted good. I would make this recipe again because it was really easy and tasted good. If I did make this recipe again I would not use salsa but would add taco sauce instead and I would mix sour cream into the mixture to make the casserole a little bit creamier. Also add cheese to the top of the dish.

I used ground turkey that had already been preseasoned with taco seasoning and added extra paprika, some chili powder, crushed red pepper flakes and ground black pepper to the mixture because my husband is a spice fanatic! And I used the fiesta blend shredded cheese and sprinkled it on top of the salsa. When my husband tasted it I got an "A+" rating from him-and believe me, it is EXTREMELY hard to please him when it comes to cooking for him! I'll definitely make this recipe again!

I made the original recipe, tasted it and and then decided it needed just little extra. After it cooked for the 20 minutes, I added some shredded cheddar cheddar cheese over the salsa, popped it back in the oven (which was turned off) so the cheese would melt. Took it out of the oven and crunched up some nacho cheese chips over the top. This was a hit with a family, as well as my co-workers. Will definatly make this a regular meal for my family!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made lots of dishes, but so tasty it was worth it! This was definitely a big hit with my family! It is very tasty and made enough for some leftovers which were also great. Per other reviews, I did add sour cream and substituted a can of diced tomatoes and green chilies for the salsa. I also mixed it all together instead of layering. Between making the mac & cheese, the meat mixture, and the baking dish, it made a lot of dishes! But will definitely keep in the mealtime rotation anyway. Yum.

My family is very hard to please with recipes and usually at least one person dislikes what is made. Not this time! Every member of the family and even a few guests loved this meal. I added a crisp salad and sprinkled Mexican cheese on top which really add just that extra something. We will definitely be having this again and again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My family loved this recipe. My family loved this recipe. It is so hard to please my husband. He hates everything, and was pleasantly suprised with this recipe. I put a bag of mexican cheese on top, and added sweet corn to the recipe. I also lined the bottom of my dish with soft taco shells so nothing would stick. The clean up was easy and the dish was tasty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ... Excellent ... I used Deluxe mac and cheese. Could have used a slightly larger baking dish. Added a heaping tablespoon of sour cream ... next time I'll use more. Layered the bottom of the baking dish with taco Doritos ... added more on top of the meat. Just before it was done, I added shredded taco cheese.
