This is MOST DEFINITELY not classic Southern Banana Pudding. It MUST be made with cooked pudding or custard to allow the banana flavor to infuse. Substitute recipe for the culinarily challenged.
A few people have said this isn't a southern recipe because it calls for instant pudding. However, I grew up in Stone Mountain, GA. Born and raised - and this is exactly how my granny made banana pudding and it's my fave. I knew it was a simple recipe and I've been looking all over for it and there are too many recipes that call for condensed milk or require baking - nope - this is it!
