Look for pears with a fragrant aroma and coloring characteristic of their variety. Skins should be free from cuts and bruises. A ripe pear is one that feels slightly firm, but gives a bit to gentle pressure at the stem end.
Sprinkle with 1 tsp. cinnamon sugar before baking.
Making cinnamon sugar is a snap. Simply combine 2 to 3 tsp. ground cinnamon with 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Place in a shaker bottle to sprinkle over fruit, toast or cereal.
Enjoy 1/2 cup of fruit in each delicious serving of this warm Fall-favorite dessert.
