I didn't think this would be as good as it was, but I just had it for lunch and it's great for such a simple recipe. I beat the egg before adding it and next time I will stir half way through to mix it in better while it's cooking. I covered it with a paper towel while it cooked. Next time I may add in salad shrimp. Will definitely be making this often for a quick lunch.

I used a very large casserole dish (to avoid overflow problems as mentioned in other comments) & had none. Following exactly makes it very dry, add extra water. Absolutely requires fluffing. I use with meat & sauce over it (like sesame chicken) never alone. It is excellent that way. (I leave out the dressing.) Good with frozen peas & pearl onions, too!

I am not sure if I was doing something wrong, the directions were pretty simple so I don't know how I could have, but this recipie did not work at all. The rice and egg mix kept overflowing in the microwave and by the time five minutes was up there was nothing left in the bowl. I tired it several times with no success.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This was awful! This was awful! The plastic wrap did not keep the liquid in the bowl so the rice didn’t cook at all. Once the rice was actually done and I tried it, the egg was weird and the dressing wasn’t good. I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it! It didn’t look or taste appetizing. Deleting this from my recipe box as we speak.

I had left over grilled steak and chicken so I chopped that up and added it to the last step. It was awesome-wish I had shrimp to add also. My husband asked which Chinese take-out place I bought it from! I took all the credit though. I did add a little more soy sauce though, it was a little dry at first.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this recipe before and posted a comment. I made this recipe before and posted a comment. For a variation which really tastes like take out, instead of adding the vegetables, add chopped onion of your choice (I used scallions) and bacon bits. This tasted very good. You really can play with this recipe and adjust it to your taste.

I followed the directions on recipe, and the rice didn't cook within 5:00 min, so I tried adding a little bit more water and putting it in the microwave again for 3 min and it still wasn't done, tried it one more time at 5 more min and the rice still didn't cook.

I even substituted 1/4 cup of egg beater and low sodium soy sauce one time. It is very easy to make and filling. I felt like I was indulging in a comfort food without all the fat.
