  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Cook chicken, peppers and chili powder in large skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium heat 8 min. or until chicken is done, stirring frequently. Stir in 1/4 cup salsa and Neufchatel; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or until Neufchatel is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Stir in 1/4 cup shredded cheese.
  • Spoon heaping 1/3 cup chicken mixture down center of each tortilla; roll up. Place, seam sides down, in 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with remaining salsa and shredded cheese. Cover.
  • Bake 20 min. or until heated through.

Makeover - How We Did It

This better-for-you alternative can save you 110 calories and 11g of fat, including 8g of sat fat per serving when compared with the traditional recipe. We did it by preparing it with PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese and KRAFT Mexican Style 2% Milk Finely Shredded Four Cheese, and decreased the amounts used for both.

Special Extra

Garnish each serving with 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro.

Variation

Prepare using corn tortillas. To prevent cracking, warm tortillas as directed on package before filling and baking as directed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was amazing! This recipe was amazing! As a way to keep in touch because we all have busy lives, my girlfriends and I get together for a girls night once a month. We made this recipe and the talking stopped. All we wanted to do was eat. The only thing we did differently was spread the salsa out over the whole dish instead of just down the middle and covered with a layer of the mexican style cheese! We're from Wisconsin so bring on the cheese! I definitely recommend this dish!

The only things I did different was that I cooked the chicken in the crock pot with seasonings the second time I made this. The shredded chicken from the crock pot turned out so much better! I also used a can of green chillis and used a can of rotel in replace of the salsa in the mixture and then used some salsa on top! I highly recommend cooking the chicken in the crock pot first!

Used a salsa on hand and added a small can of tomato sauce to make it more like the thich and chunky style. I also added additional seasoning,like garlic. My husband is very picky and he enjoyed it. I asked him if we would want me to make this again and got a hearty YES!

In our house hold we are used to eating our common dishes every week , and every now & then we look up new recipes to see how it goes but this one was perfect and it will become one of our common dishes , that's how amazing it was !

I didn't think it needed the bell pepper since it had the salsa in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was wonderful. This was wonderful. I got rave reviews. I used high fiber shells and I had to stop my son from eating another since he at THREE!! Added onion powder to the chicken, and didn't have a green pepper, but the flavor was still amazing.
