How to Thaw COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

The best way to thaw frozen COOL WHIP Whipped Topping is in its container in the refrigerator. Depending on the size tub you have, the thawing time varies. Recommended thawing times are: 8-oz. tub - 4 hours; 12-oz. tub - 5 hours; 16-oz. tub - 6 hours. We DO NOT recommend thawing COOL WHIP Whipped Topping in the microwave.

I have adjusted the recipe several ways & these are good alternatives to the frozen cake : 1) fresh sour cream pound cake in 9x13 pan ,2) cheesecake in a 9x13 pan ,3)blueberry & strawberry Jello with coolwhip on top in a clear 9x13 Tupperware container ,4) ice cream cake. DELICIOUS and Patriotic... definitely a treat to remember!

Everyone always raves! The one difference I make is using angel food cake instead of pound cake, light and refreshing! This year I'm going to try using the Wave Your Flag Cake recipie and add a layer of Jello! From the reviews I've read, should be another hit!! Thanks Kraft!

I made a double layer cake by using Pillsberry Star Spanlged cake mix and ready made vanilla cream which I added between layers. The cake mix comes with sprinkles to add in the mix. This added to the look, not the taste. I also got exactly 13 stripes by cutting the strawberries in quarters, instead of halves . It was a smashing hit at my barbecue.
