The best way to thaw frozen COOL WHIP Whipped Topping is in its container in the refrigerator. Depending on the size tub you have, the thawing time varies. Recommended thawing times are: 8-oz. tub - 4 hours; 12-oz. tub - 5 hours; 16-oz. tub - 6 hours. We DO NOT recommend thawing COOL WHIP Whipped Topping in the microwave.

I make this every year for 4th of July but make a sugar free version. I use sugar free angel food cake, sugar free jello and fat free (really low sugar) cool whip. It is delicious and everyone loves it!
This recipe was easy and fun to make. Next time I think I will omit the pound cake, though. I did not like the consistency of the pound cake. It was too soggy for my taste. however, everyone else didn't seem to mind.
