Rated 5 out of 5 by from My family has made this since I was a child (I'm 71). My family has made this since I was a child (I'm 71). However we used less salad dressing and more fruit. We also add an unpeeled red delicious apple, diced small, seedless grapes, halved and a small amount of chopped walnuts. It has always been a family favorite. In fact after moving to the Netherlands and marrying a young Dutch woman my next to the oldest called long distance just to find out how I made it. This is a big family treat at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It isn't holidays without it! You can also add kiwi.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made for the first time for a party. Made for the first time for a party. Many people commented on how good it was. I doubled the recipe for the party and yielded a medium sized portion. Gathering info from other ratings, I drained the fruits throughly to remove an excess moisture. The salad looked and tasted great. Side note, watch the ounces portion in the recipe. I assumed the recipe needed one can of pineapple it's only really about 1/2 can. So I had to watch when doubling (and not assume).

I made this for a family get together, I was kinda weiry of making it with MIRACLE WHIP but I did it along with all the other stuff and it came out bad. I had to call my grandmother to see what I could do to get the miracle whip taste out, she told me to use apple juice which I did. It tasted a bit better after that but I wouldnt make this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So good, refreshing. So good, refreshing. I added some diced cantalope, and garnished with maraschino cherries, halved. I don't usually use mayo with it, but it is good with the mayo, or Miracle Whip. Used less coconut and just garnished with it. Some of my guests either are allergic to coconut or just don't like it.

I made it to last a few days for myself to snack on and the bananas didn't keep. I plan on using it with an apple instead this week. looking forward to changing it up with different fruit! yummy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This recipe reminds me of my family's holiday favorites. This recipe reminds me of my family's holiday favorites. Instead of Mayo we use 1 cup of sour cream. Instead of bananas we use jar cherries, red and green for the holidays. Make sure the fruit is very well drained before mixing. We call this "Heavenly Hash".
