Fluffy Pudding Frosting

I made ths for the first time last weekend. I've been baking for over 50 years and can honestly say this is the best frosting I've ever made. It's light, fluffy and delicious. When you're working with a whipped topping be sure you're not preparing it in a kitchen that is too hot or humid. I suspect this would cause the runny frosting that a couple of people wrote about. Everyone wanted the recipe and said it was melt-in-your-mouth good!

Very very runny. Used it for a smash cake for my son but the frosting was so runny!

Quick, easy, and so delicious. I have used this recipe with many flavors of pudding and they all turned out great.

I use this recipe all the time, always wonderful, but I want to comment on the last time. I made cheese cake cupcakes but wanted to decorate it like a cake so I put them together on a big plate and frosted them with this recipe with vanilla pudding. It was amazing. More then 5 stars.

I made waffle bowl cupcakes for my son's birthday to take to his classroom and I used this icing recipe!!! I will use this icing for everything!!! It was so good! I love it! I will share this recipe with everyone I know!!! :) Thank You!!!!

This was great! I loved that it was sweet but not overly so.

The first time I made this, it was great, very light and sweet. The second time I decided to make it for my baby shower, unfortunately i don't know what went wrong. It just did not take form, I went out of my way and added a whole bunch of powdered sugar but it still did not take shape so we could not frost my cupcakes. went ahead with just heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar. I could not bring myself to throw it out so instead I just refrigerated it and wa-la...it turned out. so if anyone has this problem, try to refridgerate it first before frosting.

I had made this frosting and put it on a pan of brownies I had made for a church lunch and everyonr just loved the frosting and one of the ladies from my church ask me to make her brownies with this frosting for her gathering. So if you have not made this please do, it is very, very good. This I will be making more often.

I USE THIS RECIPE A LOT. DEPENDING ON THE FLAVOR OF CAKE I BAKE, I USE DIFFERENT FLAVORS OF THE INSTANT PUDDINGS. MY KIDS LOVE THIS FROSTING, NOT TO MENTION, IT'S FAT FREE AND SUGAR FREE WHICH MAKES IT EVEN BETTER AND NO ONE KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE.

I have been making this cool whip frosting recipe since I found it in a magazine in 1983. It is my kids favorite frosting, even today. I also use Jello Vanilla instant pudding for a white frosting. It comes out perfect every time. Using sugar free Jello pudding, and lite Cool Whip, it is great for anyone trying to cut down on calories.
