  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Brown meat with onions in large skillet. Meanwhile, mix Neufchatel, cottage cheese, 1-1/2 cups mozzarella, 1/4 cup Parmesan and egg until blended.
  • Drain meat; return to skillet. Stir in pasta sauce, tomatoes and oregano; simmer 5 min. Remove from heat. Spoon 1 cup meat sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; top with layers of 3 lasagna noodles, 1 cup cheese mixture and 1 cup meat sauce. Repeat layers twice. Top with remaining noodles, meat sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan; cover.
  • Bake 50 min. or until heated through, uncovering after 40 min. Let stand 10 min. before cutting to serve.

Serving Suggestion

Serve this cheesy main dish with a crisp mixed green salad or your favorite steamed vegetable to balance out the meal.

Easy Cleanup

Spray the foil with cooking spray before using to cover the lasagna to help prevent the foil from sticking to the melted cheese on the baked lasagna.

Substitute

Prepare using whole wheat lasagna noodles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great recipe. Great recipe. I doubled the recipe, and used Italian seasoned Ground Turkey mix. For my mix, I did the cream cheese, cottage cheese and shredded parmesan and did my layering, however after I put the layer of sauce on top, I sprinkled the 5 cheese mix on top of that. I used 2 bags total of that for this recipe. I used 2 jars of good size for sauce total. I also added 2 dry packets of Good Seasons Italian dressing to meat/onion mix and even a few good shakes/sprinkles of Italian seasoning, I DID NOT use the oregano and my season/taste was absolutely a perfect Italian meal. It was perfect made this way!

This is one of the best tasting lasagnas I've had in a while and trust me, I love to cook and consider myself a good one. I was a bit skeptical as I read the ingredient list, but I know you have to try different options to find good recipes, so I went ahead and gave it a try. I followed the recipe exactly as is with the exception that I like to season my food, so I added salt and pepper to the meat with a dash of Worcestershire sauce. I added salt to the lasagna water and added a bit of salt to the cheese mix. And no, it was not salty at all, it just helped bring out the flavor. When it was time to eat, I couldn't believe how good it tasted. My husband and kids loved it and I received many praises. Thanks Kraft!

This recipe is an old standby, I often use ricotta instead of the cottage cheese; both are good. Sometimes I use the Neufchatel cream cheese with green onion already in it, or add 1/2 box of frozen spinach, drained. If you have Asiago or 3 cheese blend to put on top, it adds smokey flavor. Finally, it's such a good basic recipe to adapt to what's on hand, I have substituted mild Italian sausage for some or all of the ground beef. Enjoy!

This recipe is okay, like most people here I always make a few changes specific to our tastes. The best and easist change I make is I don't boil the noodles. You don't even have to buy the special "no-boil" kind. ANY lasagne noodles will work, just add more liquid. I add a can of undrained diced tomatoes, with a little extra water it's plenty for the noodles to cook while baking. Try it yourself!

Instead of the neufchatel cheese I used ricotta, added 1/2 tsp of italian seasoning to the cheese mix, and used 2 jars of spaghetti sauce, no tomatos. I also used the lasagna noodles you don't have to boil, and extra mozzarella on top. My family loved it!

I would not use the nuftchelal (?) cheese I would just double the cottage cheese next time. I also don't like big chunks of tomatoes so I would use petite diced tomatoes. I did use more sauce and I think I would use 2 entire jars next time.

I have not made Lasagna in a long time because none of them have really impressed me, so when my husband requested Lasagna for dinner, I really wasn't looking forward to making it. I came across this one while looking for a dinner idea, and decided to give it a shot. We LOVED it!!
