Panko crumbs are typically used as a coating for fried foods in Japanese cooking. Since they're coarser than bread crumbs, they produce a deliciously crunchy crust.
Add beans to large pan of boiling water; cook 2 to 3 min. or until crisp-tender. Drain beans, then immediately plunge into bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. When beans are completely cooled, drain and pat dry.

Loved this! Used 3 bags of the steam in bag green beans and cooked them until they still had a slight crunch. Don't skimp on the bread crumbs and almonds, or the garlic! This was a very nice twist to the typical green bean ********* with mushroom soup and fried onions.
Easy to make (I used frozen beans) & a big hit at Thanksgiving dinner. Also made using (frozen) broccoli for variety at another dinner.
This is so easy and scrumptious!
