Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Line 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Crush 20 cookies; sprinkle onto bottom of prepared pan.
  • Spread ice cream over crumbs in pan; top with COOL WHIP and grated chocolate.
  • Freeze 3 hours. Remove from freezer 15 min. before serving. Let stand at room temperature to soften slightly. Use foil handles to lift dessert from pan before cutting into squares. Cut remaining cookies in half; use to garnish dessert squares.

How to Make Mess-Free Cookie Crumbs

Crushing cookies into crumbs can be a messy task. To keep the crumbs contained, place the whole cookies in a resealable plastic bag. Squeeze the air from the bag, then seal the bag. Run a rolling pin back and forth over the cookies until finely crushed.

Size-Wise

Sweets can be part of a balanced diet but remember to keep tabs on portions.

Substitute

Make this your own family classic by preparing with your favorite ice cream flavor, such as strawberry or rocky road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So quick easy and delicious! So quick easy and delicious! I made this for our Memorial Day BBQ after seeing it in the latest Kraft Magazine. To lessen the calories I used Edy's 1/2 Churned Mint Chocoloate Chip and Fat Free Cool Whip. I was also lazy, and used a pre-made oreo pie crust. I couldn't belive how quick and easy this recipe was. Everyone chowed this downed, much faster than my home made peach pie (much to my chagrin). I will try this with over flavor combos over the summer as this was such a quick and cheap dessert idea. Thanks Kraft!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mine did not look as pretty as the picture. Mine did not look as pretty as the picture. I used a 10x13 pan and the layers were a bit thin. Also, the 3 brands of mint ice cream I saw at the store were all white in color so I dyed the cool whip to be green. It was tasty, nothing super special though. Maybe a layer of fudge topping would help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We made this recipe while on a beach vacation and it was a big hit! We made this recipe while on a beach vacation and it was a big hit! Instead of the grated chocolate on the top, we just crushed up a few extra cookies. Some also drizzled a little hot chocolate fudge across the top. Perfect for hot summer days!
