  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Beat first 5 ingredients with mixer until blended; pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Top with spoonfuls of pie filling.
  • Bake 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; sprinkle with nuts. Cool 10 min.
  • Mix sugar and milk until blended; drizzle over cake. Cool completely.

If glaze is too thick to drizzle, add milk, by teaspoonfuls, until of desired consistency.

Change the flavor of the coffee cake by preparing with your favorite pie filling, such as blueberry, apple or strawberry.

Substitute chopped PLANTERS Walnuts for the almonds.

My friend and children liked this, but I didn't like it enough to make it again. The texture seemed mushy to me with the pie filling.

I made this today but since I have an apple pie filling, I decided to use a spice cake mix instead of a white cake mix then followed the recipe. I gave it as a Christmas treat to the teachers and staff at my kids' school. I'm so happy since a couple of teachers raved about how delicious it was. I'm so happy! I'll definitely make this again and will try a lemon cake mix with blueberry pie filling and a devil's food cake mix with cherry pie filling.

Made it for a church meeting using devil's food cake mix. Everyone rave about it. I will do this with different cake mixes and fruit combination. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.
