Fruit-Flavored Pound Cake

When a cake mix is made with fruit-flavored gelatin and baked in a tube pan, it’s transformed into a luscious and easy pound cake.

what you need

pkg.  (2-layer size) cake mix with pudding in the mix
pkg.  (4-serving size) JELL-O Gelatin, any flavor
cup  water
cup  oil

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 10-inch tube or fluted tube pan; set aside. Place all ingredients in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed 3 minutes or until well blended.

POUR into prepared pan.

BAKE 50 to 55 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly pressed with finger. Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.

Garnish with 1 tsp. grated lemon or orange peel just before serving.

Prepare as directed, adding 1/2 tsp. almond extract to the cake batter before pouring into prepared pan.
Alternate Baking Pans
Prepare as directed, using the following baking pans and times: one 13x9-inch pan, 40 to 45 minutes; two 9-inch layer pans, 30 to 35 minutes; two 8-inch layer pans, 35 to 40 minutes.
