Fudgy Walnut Pie

What You Need

1/2

pkg. (15 oz.) ready-to-use refrigerated pie crusts (1 crust)

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces

1/4

cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened

3/4

cup firmly packed brown sugar

eggs

tsp. vanilla

1/4

cup flour

cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

1/2

cup PLANTERS Walnut Halves

Make It

POSITION oven rack in lower third of oven. Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare pie crust as directed on package, using 9-inch pie plate; set aside. Microwave chocolate in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted; set aside.

BEAT butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in melted chocolate and vanilla. Add flour; mix well. Stir in chopped walnuts. Pour into crust. Arrange walnut halves over filling.

BAKE 25 min. or until center of filling is set. Cool completely. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.

Oh My! This was so good. I used extra walnuts in the mix and on top. The recipe says to pour it into the crust but when I made it, it was more like scooping it into the crust. It was so thick that it would not pour. It baked up really nicely though and tasted really good. It is very rich.

i made one and thought it was a bit rich.. so i divided the batter next time into two pie crust. less chocolate with the crust made it perfect.

This pie is amazingly fudgy and rich. It's like a brownie but better. Definitely best after it's been in the fridge a few hours.

I really enjoyed this. I would highly recomend this to anyone. It's really rich tasting, so you may not want such a big slice at the time. Very good anytime of year, not just at holidays.
