I was looking for something quick and easy to make for myself while my hubby was at work and found this little gem. I was a little leary of the basil and oregano, but went ahead and made it just like the recipe called for, (except I used Velvetta cheese slices and light mayo). It was great! I'll be making it for my hubby now and have already shared the recipe with my Mom. She's planning on making it soon, but says she'll add a tomato. I recommend giving this one a try.

My husband and I were iffy about some of the ingredients in this recipe but we went for it. It tasted awesome. It was like a $8 sandwich you would get at a nice upscale deli. The mayo on the bread when you grill it made the taste of the bread. Husband said it would taste wrong if it was made on a flat griddle. "It needs the grill marks to get the taste just right." This is definitely staying in my recipe book.

I make a similar recipe but, toast my bread instead of grilling the sandwich, then place in the microwave for approx 15 seconds to lightly melt the cheese. I enjoy this much more since I don't care for grilled sandwiches. I make tuna salad frequently but use tangy bread & butter pickles in place of green pepper and finely chopped sweet onion in place of green onion.

I used red peppers instead of green and added some black pepper also. next time i would try some carrots with this. it should also taste good with tomato soup on the side for an easy dinner on those busy days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We like these open face on buns. We like these open face on buns. We like chopped celery in place of the pepper. We sometimes use a slice of cheese and put under a low broiler or instead I add cubed cheese in the mixture. We also like to add chopped hard boiled eggs to tuna mixture. It's a great, healthy, warm sandwich.

For a hot summer day, this recipe is perfect to get in and out of the kitchen fast. We had a Jell-O dish with fruits and veggies and a tossed green salad as sides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is absolutely delicious! This is absolutely delicious! It tastes so professional. My whole family, my relatives and their friends all loved it. My aunt and I make it so often now, or make in large quantities…It's the onion, pepper and herbs that made this sandwich come to life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was very fast & easy to make, it taste great. This was very fast & easy to make, it taste great. instead of treating it like a panini sandwhich or just like grilled cheese, I made it a melt & I added garlic to the recipe & also put tomato, swiss cheese & lettuce. Its fabulous either way.
