Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Best. Mashed potatoes. Ever. But then, considering cream cheese and fresh garlic are involved, it's really an unfair competition.

Magazine Acquisition

What You Need

lb.  baking potatoes (about 7), peeled, quartered
cloves  garlic, minced
tub  (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread
Tbsp.  butter or margarine

Make It

COOK potatoes and garlic in boiling water in large saucepan 20 min. or until potatoes are tender; drain.

MASH potatoes until smooth.

ADD remaining ingredients; mix well.

Serving Suggestion
Add contrast to the potatoes by serving them with a crisp mixed green salad or vegetable, and cooked lean fish, meat or poultry.
Omit garlic, and prepare using PHILADELPHIA Spinach & Artichoke Cream Cheese Spread.
Make Ahead
Recipe can be prepared ahead of time. Cool, then place in resealable plastic bag. Press excess air from bag, then seal bag and refrigerate up to 24 hours. When ready to serve, transfer potatoes to microwaveable container. Microwave until heated through.
