I've eaten these at summer pot lucks, but never knew how they made that delicious desert! I was so happy to see this recipe! I am chronically ill, and tire rapidly when upright, but I was able to make this! That's how easy it is! And the deliciousness factor was off the scale! My daughter had never been treated to this, and I was excited to present it to her, and say "I made this!" (mom hasn't been able to cook for about 2 years now)! She loved it and I felt like a nurturer again. I love this recipe!

LOVE this cake. Can make it so many flavors. Our all time favorite is the lime, but I have done, grape, peach (really good), strawberry-banana, cherry...they are all so good. I tint the cool whip to match the jello flavor. I usually double the recipe. I agree with leaving out the cold water for the jello (better flavor to jello).
