  • Break whole grahams crosswise in half. Assemble house, using 1 graham square for floor and 4 squares for walls. Cut 1 of the remaining graham squares diagonally in half; secure to tops of 2 opposite walls for roof supports. Top with remaining graham squares for the roof. Let stand 5 min.
  • Decorate with remaining 1/2 graham and all other remaining ingredients to resemble photo.

I am a veteran of making "Gingerbread" holiday houses. I have been a volunteer in several youth organizations [BSA, CYO, Job's Daughters, The Demolays, etc.]. In addition I belong to the Cookie Cutter Collector's Club and the International Cake Exploration Society-we always made a new version of these "houses" every year. At times there were contests; then we taught the children and interested adults how to make one for a gift; then there were the cookie exchanges and creating a 100 of one type of cookie to assemble collections to pack up and take to a Ronald McDonald House or to The Old Soldier's Home-in each of these group settings we always sent at least one "house" for a decoration. This is very satisfying to a food hobbiest.
